News 11 July 2011 - INTRODUCTION OF NEW SAF SERIES
SA Family Register Vol 1: A
The Genealogical Institute of South Africa (GISA) who has envisaged the publishing of a new CD series for some time has now embarked on this project as a worthy successor to the previous South African genealogies (SAG) series. Just now the first volume is this new series named South African Family Registers or SAF Vol. 1: A has become available.This CD contains new as wellas upodated information on surnames commencing with the letter A. There are now approximately 422 families . Where applicable family information was augmented from ca. 1850 up to approximately 1930. The total lines of information have increased from 11295 to 21133.
The new SAF series on CD will only be available here at GISA and can be ordered at R290-00 a piece plus postage, packaging and insurance

SAG volume 2 is available at a special price of R250-00. A limited amount of books are available at the reduced price.
New books at GISA
The latest books on genealogy in GISA’s library are one on the family BOSMAN, and one on the CRAUSE/KRAUSE/CROUS/CROUSE families. We would like to thank the compilers of these books for the copies that were donated to GISA: Isak Bosman from Bellville and Annelee de Wit from Pretoria. SA Genealogies Volumes 1 to 17 has been published on CD and can be ordered from GISA.

SA Genealogies Volume 17 (X-Z & Add) is available
The last book in the current series of SA Genealogies has been published. This volume consists of 180 X to Z surnames as well as an Addendum of another 120 families, e.g. Barry, Berrington, Chadinha, Dexter, Dunn, Hickman, Pot(t)as, etc. These surnames were not included in the previous 16 volumes
